I just received this from Astrologer Chrissie Blaze. I know a lot of my readers are fans of astrology so I’m passing along Chrissie’s message.
From Chrissie:
Dear Friends,
On May 7th, 2009, Mercury the cosmic trickster turns retrograde at 1 degree 44’ Gemini, in the sign of the Twins, sending communications, travel, appointments, mail and the internet into confusion. This current retro period lasts for three weeks or so, until May 31.
What can we expect at this time? Well, apart from general confusion; unresolved issues from the past tend to rear their heads. We may collectively be faced (and especially Geminis) with events over which we appear to have little control.
In general, Mercury rules thinking and perception, processing and disseminating information and all communication, transportation, and more. Also, people who work in these areas or who use their minds such as writers, commentators, teachers, etc., are affected more than most.
Watch out for misunderstandings, disruptions and delays. Try and avoid glitches and double-check your information.
It is best not to make important decisions while Mercury is retrograde, since it is likely that such decisions will be clouded by careless thinking. Mercury is all about mental clarity and the power of the mind, so when Mercury is retrograde these intellectual characteristics tend to be less acute than usual, as the critical faculties are dimmed. Dot the is and cross the ts, and pay attention to the fine print!
Mercury retrograde in Gemini tempts us to leap into something new and untried, or to escape to some other place. We may also be swamped in a mass of detail, especially if matters that should have been completed in the past return to haunt us. An unduly fluid state of mind can lead to indecision and confusion, and frustration can arise in connection with information and ideas that come your way. Resist the temptation to take offence at criticism.
This period brings travel snafus, mail mishaps and missed appointments of all kinds. Documents can go astray.
It’s Not all Bad
However, it’s not all bad. In my book “Mercury Retrograde”, by O Books, I point out that it’s a time to collect your thoughts, revisit the past, recollect, replenish, take stock, take a break from the daily routine, and many more good things. It’s a great time to think outside the box.
