January 2009 workshop day one; UFOs over Washington, D.C.

Welcome to our January workshop about UFOs over Washington D.C. titled Exploring the Hidden History of Washington, D.C.  It is presented by UFO expert, Robert M. Stanley.  You may like to read a  letter that Mr. Stanley wrote to President Elect Obama regarding UFO secrecy.

I would like to thank Robert M. Stanley for presenting this workshop. Below you will find a blurb about what he’ll cover, his bio and his post for today. There will be another workshop page posted in the morning and then I’ll link the two together. If you have questions that you would like to ask Mr. Stanley, please put them in the comment section below. Mr. Stanley is an expert in UFOs so if you’ve ever wanted to ask an expert, now’s the time. I’ll monitor the comments during the day and Mr. Stanley will be stopping by throughout the workshop to answer your questions. Please follow the how to use this site instructions when commenting.

Exploring the Hidden History of Washington, D.C.

presented by Robert M. Stanley

People interested in the paranormal have often wondered why UFOs don’t just land on the White House lawn and meet with our President and end all the secrecy. As you will learn in this controversial workshop, UFOs have passed over the White House numerous times on the way to their preferred destination along The National Mall ? Capitol Hill.

We will examine the authentic, photographs and movie footage of UFOs over the Capitol, and explore some of the more than 240 UFO sightings that have occurred in D.C. during the past 60 years. To conclude, we will discuss the implications of these paranormal events in Washington and consider possible ways for the public to proactively address the ongoing situation.

To begin our workshop, I will provide some background on how I became an expert in the field of UFOs. Although I am a journalist, I am also an avid photographer that has a lot of experience with the analysis of UFO images.

Here is the paranormal picture that first captivated my interest as a child.

But that was just the beginning. Many UFOs were being sighted around my home town of Malibu during the time I was growing up there. Here is a link to the photos and my article about UFOs passing over Malibu and getting quite a few people’s attention.

My current investigation of UFO sightings and close encounters with alien life forms in Washington, D.C., began in the spring of 2005 when I received an e-mail from a friend; a retired CIA officer named Derrel Sims.

He had forwarded me some photos taken at the Capitol in July of 2002 because he wanted my opinion as to whether or not they were real images or just PhotoShop. The images in question appeared to show, among other things, a glowing, spherical UFO that had briefly landed on the roof of the Capitol. If true, this was a huge story.

Here is the link to some of those photos with two of them included here:

The brief e-mail Derrel sent me explained that the close encounter/photo-op at the Capitol had allegedly occurred almost three years earlier, and my first reaction was that this was simply impossible. I would have heard something about an event as significant as that already, so I dismissed it at first.

But later that day, as I studied the very strange, night-time UFO images taken at the Capitol reflecting pool, I noticed that an e-mail address and a D.C. telephone number for the photographer were included with the pictures.

I thought for a moment, then decided I would just ask the photographer a few simple questions and find out if this case had merit or not. Little did I know that I had just opened a Pandora’s Box of the paranormal in D.C.?

In the first few months of my investigation, the D.C. UFO photographs were analyzed and found to be authentic and I learned that the photographer had an amazing story to tell. I wrote an article that was published internationally by Nexus magazine and was posted on the internet at Unicus magazine.

It was at that very same time that I broke the story of UFOs over D.C., in July of 2005, I was visited by a black, unmarked military helicopter flying very low, slow and incredibly loud as it circled over my home and then hovered briefly over my driveway. At that point, I walked outside to see what was going on… only to find this crazy helicopter hovering so low I could have hit it with a rock.

It was a surreal moment, and I knew for certain my investigative report had touched a nerve in D.C. Although I was stunned, I quickly ran inside my house and grabbed a camera and snapped a couple of shots just before the helicopter left.

Here is one of those photos of the military helicopter as it was leaving – to see more pictures click here.

Although it was a bit frightening, that event convinced me I really was on to something big, so I began to dig deeper in my search for any and all D.C. UFO related data. I spent thousands of hours sifting through every source I could find regarding Washington, D.C. Soon, I had gathered enough material to write a 400 page book with over 220 eye-witness sightings.

And to my surprise, I was also able to locate quite a few D.C. UFO photos that very few people had ever seen before. Coincidently, an important historic movie of UFOs passing over the Capitol in 1952 was leaked to the public the same year I began my investigation – 2005. Here is that movie footage:

After more than three years of reporting this specific story, I am still amazed that this information did not surface sooner. After all, this is not rocket science. All I did was conduct a careful search of the public record for all the clues, then correlate the data… which led me to some startling conclusions about our Nation’s Capital.

I suspect that many of you are reading about the hidden history UFOs in D.C. for the first time and have questions about my research. You are welcome to post your questions in the comments section located at the bottom of this page and I will attempt to answer each one fully. However, I have been reporting this specific story publicly for a few years now and have had quite a few good questions asked already about this subject by concerned citizens.

Here are a series of questions and answers that may help guide our discussion.

How often have UFOs been sighted over Washington, D.C.?

The short answer is: more than 250 times since the year 1850, that I know of. I suspect that UFOs have actually visited D.C. thousands of times in our recent history, but every event or photograph has not been reported yet – and may never be made public.

It is worth noting that although alien aerial craft have been reportedly sighted over Washington since 1850, the number of UFO reports did not increase significantly until 1948. After this time, people became much more aware of UFOs and were willing to report them.

According to my current records (12/08), there have been more than 240 UFO sightings in D.C. since 1948. Based on that information, statistically speaking, there are more UFO sightings per square mile in D.C. than any other place on Earth, yet this fact has not been widely reported until now.

Why are UFOs repeatedly visiting D.C., especially the Capitol?

We will not get an accurate answer to this question until we have a face-to-face discussion with the occupants of the UFOs. However, it is obvious that Washington, D.C., is the seat of power for the United States government and military which is still a superpower on this planet. Perhaps it is the old “take me to your leader” scenario?

I know that when viewing maps and or satellite images of D.C., it is clear that the geometric design of the capital city as seen from above is quite unusual. That may be another reason UFOs are frequently drawn to the area; like modern “Nasca lines.”

The most provocative possibility as to why UFOs are attracted specifically to the Capitol is because the remains of little dead aliens and a wrecked space craft were being stored in the sub basement for an unknown period of years.

I know that sounds absurd if taken out of context, but consider the following. The letter that disclosed the strange story regarding aliens and a UFO being witnessed in the sub-basement of the Capitol in the late 1930s, was first made public in 2002 by the daughters of Reverend Holt; a cousin of former Secretary of State Cordell Hull. This personal account represents the reputation of two well respected families that had no reason to fabricate modern fairy tales.

Here is a link to an investigation of Reverend Holt’s amazing story and their most current video is below.

Here is what the brief letter from the reverend’s daughter to a UFO research group said:

To Whom It May Concern:

I want to share some knowledge that has been, by request, kept secret in our family since sometime in World War II. This concerns something my father was shown by Cordell Hull, who was Secretary of State under Franklin Roosevelt. Summer Wells was his Under-Secretary of State. Hull was a cousin to my father. My father was on some kind of advising committee, and made several trips to Washington, D.C. in that capacity.

My father, who was young, brilliant, and sound of mind, told this story to us because he didn’t want the information to be lost. One day when my father was in D.C., Cordell swore him to secrecy and took him to a sub-basement in the U.S. Capitol building, and showed him an amazing sight:

(1) Four large glass jars holding 4 creatures unknown to my father or Cordell.

(2) A wrecked round craft of some kind nearby.

My father wanted my sister and I to make this information known long after he and Cordell were dead, because he felt it was a very important bit of information. We have researched your group and feel it is the most reliable group in the country. We hope that you will research and search this information.

Please don’t disregard this, because what I have written is true. The jars with creatures in formaldehyde and the wrecked craft are somewhere.

Cordell said they were afraid they would start a panic if the public found out about it.

Sincerely,

Lucile Andrew

It is worth noting that 2002, the year this letter was made public, was the same year UFOs were photographed at the Capitol and that military fighter jets were scrambled to intercept them. It was also the year that the Capitol Visitors Center construction began underground. The project created a massive, 3 story sub-Capitol complex and provided a legitimate reason to make dramatic changes to the existing Capitol’s basement. The project took 6 years and over 700 million dollars to complete.

I hope that you find this workshop interesting and instructive. Thank you for participating. There will be more information posted tomorrow in the final day of this workshop.

Respectfully,

Robert M. Stanley
